Boys Soccer League Champions
Freshman Jake Freedman launched a game-winning goal in overtime Monday night at Steinly Stadium. The boys’ varsity soccer team won their league championship against the Abington Ghosts 2-1. It was Freedman’s first goal of the season. He chipped it just high enough over the goalie’s head to put it in the back of the net.
With the first goal from sophomore Nathan Scavo in regular time, the hatters edged out the Ghosts for first place in their conference. They had previously tied to Abington 2-2 away. But, with the home crowd waving their fat heads, the Hatters prevailed. With that victory, they secure a #15 state rank. The Hatters won their next game 1-0 Thursday night, at Plymouth Whitemarsh.
