Stage Crew an Important Part of “Little Shop”

Everyone always thinks of the performers who act out the play, but have you ever considered what goes on behind the scenes?

Last night, Thurs., Dec. 5., Little Shop of Horrors opened. Students have been working on the show since September, and through the power of tools, craftsmen and sheer willpower, the Stage Crew for this year’s fall show has been hard at work behind the scenes poring over every minute detail to ensure this show is a spectacle to behold.

Stage Crew Director Mr. Milton Kunz has been busy with Stage Crew’s work. Though many of the props are being reused from previous plays, most of the stage, such as the house and the villainous plant, are completely new and handmade.

Stage Crew has been on production since mid-October to perfect the show happening now through Saturday night. Freshman Emily Dougherty said the play was “a lot more official than the [middle school plays]”.

It hasn’t been all work and no play, however, as the smiling faces of Stage Crew will prove. It’s also been educational. Freshman member Miciel Rivera stated “It’s fun! I got to learn how to use tools, such as a drill.”

The show is a classic and the team behind it is ecstatic, the only question: where will you be when the plants strike?
