Considering applying to the Eastern Center for Arts and Technology? Or want to learn more about it?
The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology offers students hands-on experience in a variety of career fields. On Dec. 12, 2024, a field trip gave students the chance to tour the school and explore its programs. Students who signed up for the trip selected three subjects to learn more about and were transported to the center for a firsthand look at the courses offered.
The field trip offered students valuable insight into careers not typically taught in traditional HHHS courses or allowed them to expand on subjects they’ve already studied.
Sophomore Kallie Stebulis, who attended with an interest in Exercise Science and Rehabilitation, had the opportunity to explore the classroom and participate in activities specific to the field. She also learned about the course syllabus. However, Stebulis’s key takeaway was her growing interest in a different area. “I loved visiting the Veterinary Science wing and seeing all of the animals,” she said.
Furthermore, Eastern helps students explore new ideas and adjust their course choices to better suit their interests.
Sophomore Cecelia Zschunke, who wants to become a hair stylist, went on the trip to explore their Cosmetology program. She was able to see various cosmetology products and what it would look like to be taking a course there. She also visited classes on Photography and Exercise Science.
Photography, Cosmetology, Exercise and Veterinary Sciences are only a fraction of the hands-on courses at Eastern. Other courses include: Allied Health, Automotive Technology, Business and Technology, Collision Repair Technology, Construction Technology, Culinary Arts, Design and Illustration, Electrical Technology, Heating/Ventilation and A/C, Networking and Cybersecurity, Protective Services, Robotics and Automated Technology, and Welding Technology.
The Eastern Center for Arts and Technology offers an immersive and diverse career program for students interested in spending part of their day at the school. As the program is highly competitive, students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
