On Thursday, Oct. 28, the annual Link Crew Haunted Hallway took place in the A-Wing for families, students and friends. The event was supervised by Link Crew advisers Mrs. Karen Cassidy and Mr. James Shields and planned by Link Crew student leaders.

Mr. Shields said, “Haunted Hallway was an idea that came from a haunted hallway at my son’s elementary school at Central Bucks. [We] tried it here two years ago for the first time.”

Link Crew leaders planned the Haunted Hallway for two weeks. Leading up to the event, they sold tickets for $5 and at the door for $10. They sold around 750 tickets, which raised more than $3750.

At the event, people waiting outside for their turn had access to stands selling light sticks, balloon arts and snacks with music to hype up the event.

Junior and Link Crew leader Diya Savaliya said, “The Haunted Hallway was enjoyable and exciting! During the night, I was outside in charge of giving out food and drinks.”

Each group of people entering the Haunted Hallway were led by a Link Crew tour guide. Their guide first read a background story and then directed people throughout the scary themes of the hallway. Each group of actors came up with a scene in advance and acted it out during the Haunted Hallway.

Actors would scare people, cry, bang, run, yell and act in their scenes. Each group of actors had a different theme and scene, each taking up a small part of the hallway and giving participants a small amount of time to transition before getting scared again.

Senior Tom Halko acting.

Junior and actor Laura Kirsch said, “My group was in the dungeon scene. My part was to jump and scare people walking by– it was fun.”

Senior and actor Sarah Brifo said, “My group’s theme was asylum, and I was dressed like an asylum patient. For me, it was a lot of fun but also kind of out of my comfort zone because I had to run around and laugh crazily in people’s faces. It was also super chaotic because group after group was coming, and we had little time to reset and take a break.”

Senior and actor Aneesh Sondur said, “My group’s theme was clowns. We collaborated to come up with the carnival of carnage.”

Junior and actor Kaitlyn Stielow said, “I was a jump scare on my own. My costume was a black T-shirt and pants with a fake neck cut and fake blood. I hid in the entryway to one bathroom and jumped out and scared people just before they entered the locker pods for the skits. I also did a lot to help with decorating the lobby and making signs for the food, glow sticks and entry. It was fun.”

Junior and actor Maggie Tierney said, “My group’s theme was the cafeteria. I tried to jump scare people like a crazy lunch lady. It was an amazing experience, and I’ll never forget about it.”

Freshman and participant Tiffany Gao said, “I think the haunted hallway is fascinating. Everyone worked so well. I had a fun time.”

Junior and participant Anthony Ortega said, “I thought it was alright, but I thought it could have been better. I wished it were scarier. The actors were really loud.”

Mr. Shields said that he hopes to make the Haunted Hallway funnier and better every year, making it another school tradition.
